Aine’s Fund 2019

Please help Friends of Aine Continue to provide grief support services to Children, teens and families.

The death of a parent, sibling or significant person in a child’s life is a traumatic experience that can lead to emotional, behavioral and physical health problems later in life.

These children need support.

Childhood bereavement is a prevalent and critical public health issue. Research shows that participation in grief support programs helps bereaved children and teens experience a significant decrease in toxic stress and the serious emotional, behavioral and physical symptoms it often causes. The number of families in New Hampshire that need help is greater than the national average and continues to grow.

  • 1 in 13 children in NH will experience the death of a parent or sibling by the age of 18
  • That number more than doubles by the age of 25
  • 24% of adult deaths (ages 25-54) in NH are opioid related, nearly double the national average of 12.8%

Since last year, Friends of Aine has:

  • Increased the number of children, teens and families participating in our Good Grief programs by 146%
  • More than doubled the number of volunteers working with grieving children, teens and their families
  • Doubled the number of groups offered and expanded services to 2 NH locations

Services are free however, the average cost for each child/teen to participate is $1,500; there are no insurance benefits or government funding for these programs. The success of Friends of Aine depends entirely upon the generosity of volunteers and donors like you!

Together, we can help.

Please consider donating to Aine’s fund. Your gift will provide free grief support services for children and families that have experienced a significant death. Your compassion can help change the life of a child. Thanks for your generosity!
