The “Good Grief” program for children, run by Home Health and Hospice Care in Merrimack, NH is an invaluable resource for families. Unfortunately, there is no government or insurance funding and as a result, these programs are only possible because of the generosity of donors and volunteers.

We established Friends of Aine in the Spring of 2013 to provide financial support to child grief programs and we are delighted that the extra funding is helping to make a difference.

  • The child bereavement program ‘Good Grief’ is currently serving the largest group ever—30 children, 22 parents/caretakers. These numbers do not include the high school program and our loss specific (Holidays, Mother’s, Father’s) days.
  • 11 towns served by current programs: Merrimack, Nashua, Manchester, Bedford, Milford, Hollis, Amherst, Wilton, Concord, New Boston, Dracut MA.
  • Two part-time staff positions added—Administrative Support and an Art Therapist with a wealth of experience in helping grieving children and adults.
  • Outreach has expanded to school guidance counselors, pediatricians, and therapists with information that pertains to bereaved children and teens

These much-needed programs have expanded rapidly in recent years, reaching more families and communities. We now urgently need to provide a permanent home to better serve these kids experiencing immense suffering.
